Boys' U19 World Championship 2023 - Competition host city.

San Juan is the fifth Argentinean city to host the FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship after Buenos Aires and Almirante Brown welcomed the 2011 edition of the event and Resistencia Chaco and Corrientes played hosts in 2015.

Located in the Western region of the country in the Tulúm Valley, the city of San Juan is the capital of the province of the same name and is home to nearly 500,000 people in its metropolitan area. Because of the rivers and lakes that surround the city, the city is nicknamed "Oasis Town". Founded in 1592 by Spanish conquer Juan Jufré, San Juan is known for its wine production.

The city has a strong connection with volleyball as the home of the traditional Argentinean men's club UPCN Voley, which have won a record nine Argentinean titles and two bronze medals at the FIVB Men's Club World Championship. San Juan has also hosted matches of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, matches of the Volleyball Nations League 2018 and multiple stops of the FIVB World League.
